Cat Grass

Cat grass is a delightful and beneficial addition to a cat’s diet. Not only does it provide a safe and natural way for indoor cats to experience the outdoors, it also offers health benefits. Rich in vitamins and minerals, cat grass can aid in digestion and reduce hairball formation.

My cat Roxie is an indoor cat and I have placed a few bowls of cat grass around the house for her to enjoy.

One of the primary reasons cat grass is considered a healthy medicine for cats is its ability to help with digestive issues. Cats naturally tend to chew on grass to induce vomiting, which can help them expel indigestible materials such as hairballs. This is especially beneficial for indoor cats that might not have access to outdoor grasses. Additionally, the fibre content in cat grass can aid in regular bowel movements, preventing constipation and other digestive problems.

Moreover, cat grass can serve as a psychological enrichment tool for indoor cats. Chewing on the grass can provide a stimulating activity that mimics their natural behaviour in the wild, thus helping to reduce stress and anxiety. This simple addition to their environment can contribute to their overall well-being, making them happier and healthier pets. By offering cat grass, pet owners can ensure that their feline companions enjoy both physical and mental health benefits, enhancing their quality of life.

Thanks for sharing this. I have 3 cats and wondered why they kept eating grass and it only made them vomit afterwards! now I know.
